HomeForge Privacy Policy

HomeForge is a private family command center. This policy explains how HomeForge accesses, uses, stores, protects, shares, retains, and deletes information, including information received through Google APIs.

1. Information HomeForge processes

HomeForge stores information supplied by the household, including family member profiles, schedules, custody information, sports, meals, recipes, shopping lists, chores, completion records, and family rewards.

When an authorized adult connects Google Calendar, HomeForge may access:

  • The connected Google account identifier and email address.
  • Calendar names, identifiers, colors, time zones, and access metadata.
  • Calendar event titles, descriptions, locations, start and end times, recurrence information, attendees, status, and related event metadata provided by Google.

HomeForge requests read-only Google Calendar access. It does not request permission to create, edit, or delete Google Calendar events.

2. How Google user data is used

Google Calendar data is used only to provide and improve user-facing HomeForge functionality, including displaying the private household schedule, showing upcoming family and sports events, and supplying calendar context for household and meal planning.

HomeForge maintains a local read-only event cache so these household features remain available during temporary Google service interruptions. Google Workspace API data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, data brokerage, or development, improvement, or training of generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

3. Storage and security

  • Connections to HomeForge use HTTPS.
  • Google OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Private iCalendar subscription URLs are encrypted at rest.
  • Calendar events are stored in HomeForge’s private household database and are available only through authenticated household access.
  • Administrative and technical safeguards restrict access to the application and its data.

No security measure can guarantee absolute protection, but HomeForge limits the Google permissions it requests and uses read-only access to reduce risk.

4. Sharing and disclosure

HomeForge does not sell Google user data or other household information. It does not use that information for targeted, personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers only as necessary to host, secure, back up, or operate HomeForge. HomeForge does not transfer or disclose Google user data to unrelated third parties except when required by law or necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service.

5. Retention and deletion

Google account credentials and cached calendar events are retained while the calendar connection remains active. When an authorized adult disconnects a Google account in HomeForge, its OAuth credentials, calendar-source records, and cached Google events are deleted from the active database.

Operational backups may retain deleted records until the applicable backup rotation expires. Backups are used only for disaster recovery and are not used for active product processing.

6. User choices and control

  • An authorized adult may disable an individual calendar source or disconnect the Google account from HomeForge.
  • A Google account holder may revoke HomeForge from the account’s Google connected-app settings.
  • A household member may contact the HomeForge administrator to request access, correction, or deletion of household information.

7. Children’s information

HomeForge is a private household application configured and controlled by an authorized adult. It does not offer public registration or knowingly solicit children to create public accounts. Household adults control the family profiles and services used within HomeForge.

8. Google API Services User Data Policy

HomeForge’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Policy changes

This policy may be updated when HomeForge’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated, and material changes affecting Google user data will be disclosed here before they take effect.

10. Contact

Questions, privacy requests, and deletion requests may be sent to [email protected].
