Why HomeForge exists

One reliable view of family life

HomeForge brings the information a household already depends on into one private place: who is home, what is happening, what is for dinner, what needs to be bought, and what everyone needs to do next. It is not a public service and has no public account registration.

Read-only Google Calendar connection

When a family member chooses to connect Google Calendar, HomeForge requests read-only access. It reads calendar and event information to display the household schedule and support calendar-aware meal planning.

HomeForge does not create, edit, or delete events in Google Calendar. A local event cache keeps the household view available during temporary Google outages.

Household-controlled access

Calendar access begins only after an authorized adult explicitly connects an account. OAuth credentials are encrypted at rest, access can be revoked through Google, and disconnecting the account removes its active credentials and cached calendar data from HomeForge.
